We were all searching for the same kind of sound, feel, and passion for the music. We found each other by accident, or was it fate ? The result is an awesome sound that isn't found in any other band around. Try us out.
We perform a wide variety of Rock and Roll, Blues, Country-Western and Pop covers as well as original tunes. Crowds consistently comment that our diverse music selection is the best. It takes them back to their youth. You might describe it as "Feel Good Music".
Get up and dance ! Most bands are energized by the their audience. We're no different. As your energy level increases, so does ours. It's what "they" call a symbiotic relationship. You make it what it is.

Russ has been playing drums since age 10. After seeing the band at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa he decided that he wanted to be a drummer. Like most drummers do, he started out banging on his mom’s Tupperware containers. As luck would have it, the drummer in his brother’s band was selling his old set and Russ’ parents bought the set for him.
After the drummer heard Russ play them, he decided to give him the drums and gave the money back to his parents. Within a year, his brother’s band asked if he would like to play a gig with them; and at the age of 11 his drumming career began.
He’s spent time in recording studios, and at the age of 16 he was standby for three different bands. If you have a chance, ask him to tell you the story of what his brother did to him with an Allman Brothers cassette tape.
Russ loves to play all types of music, but his favorite artists are The Outlaws, The Doobie Brothers and Toto.
We aren't the most expensive band around, or the least expensive. But you get a lot of bang for the buck with Alter Ego Band. We are the best "Value" in town. You get more than your money's worth.
When Russ starts drumming, you can't help but feel the rhythm. It gets people on their feet. Russ keeps the beat that keeps the band in time, while the band takes the audience BACK in time.

Steve studied at M.I. In Hollywood and with Steve Rodby, Pat Metheny’s longtime bassist. He performed on the same bill with Buddy Guy, The BoDeans, Oingo Boingo, Katey Sagal, Lonnie Brooks, Dr. John, and many others.
Paul began playing guitar in 1970. He and his older brother learned at the same time. While his brother was forming a rock band, Paul played in church groups. He played guitar for about 6 years then stopped playing due to other interests. About 30 years later when Paul's son decided to join the middle school string band, he picked guitar back up. Paul plays rhythm and lead on acoustic 6-string and 12-string, and electric 6 string guitars and can play a little piano, violin, and the banjitar. He is also a backup vocalist in the band. Paul has performed at various venues around the quad-cities including Acker Night, Prescott Summer Concert Series, and at Cliff Castle Casino. His second cousin Colin Winski (now deceased) was a Rockabilly star. Rock and blues influences include Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, the Allman Brothers Band, Santana and many more.
Paul will on occasion get out and mix it up with the audience.
