Mike Ley

image15

Mike started playing gigs at age 8 and has never looked back. His first real break came when his band, “The Newports” became one of the house bands at the Whisky-A-Go-Go in Hollywood, San Francisco, and The New York World’s Fair.

After a short stint in the U.S. Navy Mike became a hired gun on guitar and bass in the L.A. area. He has worked with the Coasters, Etta James, Sonny and Cher, Little Anthony, Chubby Checker, Big J McNeely and many others in the Rock ‘n’ Roll and Blues fields.

His Country-Western credits includes over 20 years with The Riders Of The Purple Sage. He has worked with Roy Rogers, Cliffie Stone, Hank Penny, Eddie Dean, Molly Bee, Stewart Hamblin, Red Simpson and many others.

Mike plays electric bass, acoustic bass, harmonica, guitar, mandolin, sings and writes songs.

Versatility is Mike's middle name

Steve Feller

Steve Feller

Steve has been a musician for more than 45 years and has been playing professionally for more than 35 years. Steve’s been on national television, in TV commercials, and toured both in the U.S. and Europe with some really big names. He’s also written a number of songs.

Steve expertly plays keyboards and is the band’s lead singer. He loves making music and entertaining crowds, which you will clearly see as you watch him perform.

Feel the excitement

Steve is a musician with passion.  Watching him perform on stage is a thing of beauty.  Think Billy Joel...

I Gotta Scream !

Steve wows the audience with his vocal range and his ability to capture the true essence of the original performer.  Especially when he does an original song.

Russ Hull

image20

Russ has been playing drums since age 10.  After seeing the band at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa he decided that he wanted to be a drummer.  Like most drummers do, he started out banging on his mom’s Tupperware containers.  As luck would have it, the drummer in his brother’s band was selling his old set and Russ’ parents bought the set for him.

After the drummer heard Russ play them, he decided to give him the drums and gave the money back to his parents.  Within a year, his brother’s band asked if he would like to play a gig with them; and at the age of 11 his drumming career began.

He’s spent time in recording studios, and at the age of 16 he was standby for three different bands.  If you have a chance, ask him to tell you the story of what his brother did to him with an Allman Brothers cassette tape.

Russ loves to play all types of music, but his favorite artists are The Outlaws, The Doobie Brothers and Toto.

More Bang for your Buck

image21

We aren't the most expensive band around, or the least expensive.  But you get a lot of bang for the buck with Alter Ego Band.  We are the best "Value" in town.  You get more than your money's worth.

Feel the Rhythm

image22

When Russ starts drumming, you can't help but feel the rhythm.  It gets people on their feet.  Russ keeps the beat that keeps the band in time, while the band takes the audience BACK in time.

Steve studied at M.I. In Hollywood and with Steve Rodby, Pat Metheny’s longtime bassist. He performed on the same bill with Buddy Guy, The BoDeans, Oingo Boingo, Katey Sagal, Lonnie Brooks, Dr. John, and many others.
